Jalyse Stewart
Associate Marriage and Family Therapist
Trauma-informed therapy for women — especially Black women and BIPOC clients — healing from childhood sexual abuse, complex trauma, and what a lifetime of carrying other people's weight does to the nervous system.
Who I work with
Women healing from childhood sexual abuse and complex trauma — particularly Black women and BIPOC clients whose experiences get flattened or pathologized in less culturally-aware rooms. Also individuals whose anxiety, reactivity, or disconnection is rooted in what the nervous system is still holding, even if you can't always name it.
My approach
EMDR for reprocessing trauma at its source, IFS for meeting the parts of yourself you've had to hide or harden, somatic practices for the body's wisdom, CBT and solution-focused work for practical tools in between. As a Black woman and therapist, I bring that identity into the work when it's useful — not as performance, but as shared language.
