Who we see in Concord

The patterns that bring Concord clients in.

Concord clients come to us with real life piled on: a long commute, a mortgage that keeps moving the target, a blended family learning to be a family, aging parents, kids in the Mt. Diablo district, careers that stack shifts or stack overtime. The therapy we do here respects that — the work has to fit inside a week that's already full, and it has to be worth the hour.

Common presentations: couples whose relationship hasn't had a real conversation in months because every evening gets consumed by logistics. Parents trying to co-parent across a divorce without their kids getting caught in the middle. Healthcare workers from John Muir and Kaiser Walnut Creek carrying cumulative shift stress and patient grief. Working professionals who thought they'd outrun their anxiety by keeping busy and are now noticing it's been keeping pace the whole time.

A meaningful subset of Concord clients come to us for grief work, trauma recovery after a medical event or accident, or to process the kind of long-held family-of-origin material that doesn't have a clean label. Therapy here works when it's honest about what's happening and useful for what you have to do tomorrow.

FAQ

Common questions from Concord clients.

Do you see clients who live in Concord?

+

Yes. Concord is part of our core service area. We're telehealth-first across California — Concord clients meet with us via secure video from home, office, or car during a lunch break. Our business address is 15 minutes away in Walnut Creek, but most of our team is telehealth-only.

What if I have Kaiser insurance?

+

We're not in-network with Kaiser. If you have Kaiser HMO, you'd need a referral from Kaiser to see an outside provider, which is rarely approved. If you have Kaiser POS or you're willing to pay out-of-pocket, we can work together. Most Concord clients with Kaiser end up either using Kaiser's internal mental health (for medication management or short-term work) or paying us privately for the specialty couples, sex, or trauma work Kaiser doesn't offer.

Do you offer evening and weekend appointments for shift workers?

+

Yes. We run evenings and weekends seven days a week, which works for healthcare workers at John Muir and Kaiser Walnut Creek, trades workers with early start times, and anyone whose schedule doesn't match a 9-to-5 block. Tell us your availability during the free consult and we'll match you with a therapist whose hours fit.

Is there a sliding scale?

+

Yes, for clients who need financial support. Sliding scale availability varies by therapist. Mention cost during your consult and we'll be straight with you about what's possible. We'd rather tell you we can't meet a specific rate than have you stop coming after three sessions because the math doesn't work.
